Visiting University of Chicago

I had the opportunity to visit the University of Chicago while on a college tour of schools in Wisconsin and Illinois in September. The University of Chicago has approximately 18,523 total students, including 7,653 undergraduate students and 10,870 graduate students. The University of Chicago is remarkable in many ways. The architecture and landscaping, as they showed us, purposefully blur the lines between traditional and chart their own path. The University of Chicago, a private research university located in Chicago, Illinois, is renowned for its rigorous academic standards, commitment to free intellectual inquiry, and influential contributions to fields such as economics, science, and public policy. UCI requires a rigorous core curriculum, renowned schools such as the Booth School of Business, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the Pritzker School of Medicine. Our tour guide was a triple major with plans to attend law school.

Being admitted to UCI is challenging, given its low acceptance rate of 4%. Applicants demonstrate intellectual curiosity, intense rigor, and a desire to learn. The average GPA is 3.825, and the average SAT is 1510. Students work hard and play hard, with traditions like the annual Scavenger Hunt, the Aims of Education Address, and discussions on the benefits of a liberal arts education. Additionally, students attend the Harper Lectures and the Ryerson Lectures, both of which provide opportunities for engaging in scholarly discourse. U Chicago is known for its quirky supplemental essay questions, so give them some thought and let the readers get to know you. To learn more about the University of Chicago, go to
