Fins Up With Nova Southeastern University

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) offers a variety of dual degree programs across different disciplines to allow students to pursue two degrees concurrently. These programs allow students to integrate their interests across different fields and enhance their academic and professional skills. Some examples of dual degree programs offered at NSU include:

A JD/MBA (Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration): This program allows students to earn both a Juris Doctor degree from NSU’s Shepard Broad College of Law and a Master of Business Administration degree from the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Secondly, a DPT/MPH (Doctor of Physical Therapy/Master of Public Health): This dual degree program combines clinical training in physical therapy with a focus on public health principles and practices, offered through NSU’s College of Health Care Sciences and College of Osteopathic Medicine.

There’s also a DO/MBA (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine/Master of Business Administration): Students in this program can earn both a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Business Administration degree from the H. Nova Southeastern University (NSU) provides support and resources for neurodivergent students, including those with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and other learning differences. Here are some ways NSU supports neurodivergent students:

Support for Students

Disability Services: NSU’s Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) works with students with disabilities, including neurodivergent students, to provide accommodations and support services to ensure equal access to education. This may include accommodations such as extended time on exams, note-taking assistance, assistive technology, and more.

The Office of Academic Support offers services to help neurodivergent students succeed in their coursework. These may include tutoring, study skills workshops, academic coaching, and specialized academic programs tailored to their needs.

The Counseling and Mental Health Services provides team counseling and mental health services to support the emotional well-being of neurodivergent students. This may include individual counseling, group therapy, and support groups focused on topics relevant to neurodiversity.

  1. Peer Support Networks: NSU encourages the formation of peer support networks and student organizations so that neurodivergent students can connect with others who share similar experiences and challenges. These networks can provide valuable social support and a sense of community for neurodivergent students.
  2. Sensory-Friendly Spaces: NSU may offer sensory-friendly spaces on campus designed to accommodate the needs of neurodivergent students, such as quiet study areas, sensory rooms, and other environments that minimize sensory overload.
  3. Training and Awareness: NSU provides training and awareness programs for faculty, staff, and students to promote understanding and inclusion of neurodivergent individuals in the university community. This may include workshops, seminars, and educational materials on topics related to neurodiversity and inclusion.

By offering comprehensive support services, accommodations, and a supportive campus environment, Nova Southeastern University aims to empower neurodivergent students to thrive academically, socially, and personally during their time at the university.

These are just a few examples of the dual degree programs available at Nova Southeastern University. The university offers various dual degree options tailored to various academic and professional interests. Students interested in pursuing a dual degree should consult with academic advisors and program coordinators to explore available options and requirements.
