    What Are Learning Differences?

Learning differences refer to variations in the way individuals process, understand, and retain information. These differences are not indicative of intelligence or potential but reflect diverse ways the brain works in learning. People with learning differences may encounter challenges in specific areas of education, but they often possess unique strengths and abilities in other areas.

Learning differences are sometimes categorized under the broader term “learning disabilities,” though not all learning differences are classified as disabilities. Some individuals may struggle in particular areas of learning while excelling in others. It’s important to note that learning differences are often neurological in nature and may be associated with conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, or autism spectrum disorder. Still, they can also simply reflect individual variations in cognitive processing.
